As a Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, and Senior Art Director I’ve had the privilege to lead people, projects, and brands in categories ranging from beauty to biotech. I love the people and the work, and take great pride in creating the best versions of both. I’m versatile and hands-on in pixels, print, social, video, web, environments, or wherever the story needs to be told. I think strategically, work within budgets large and small, and gauge success according to results not my ego. I’ve built brands, led and managed teams, mentored talent, and brought people and ideas together to collaborate, solve problems, and realize potential. After presenting a series of storyboards I was once asked by my clients if I could narrate their life for them. Unfortunately, I had to pass.
In addition to delivering life-narrating creative presentations, I’ve also been known to keep a classroom full of Gen Z-ers completely riveted for over two and a half hours. As an Adjunct Professor, I created the curriculum for a weekly class I teach at Chapman University on the fundamentals of layout, typography, color, design thinking, and Adobe InDesign for Advertising/PR and Graphic Design students. I’m proud to say that it’s been frequently referred to as “the best class I’ve taken at Chapman!”, but more proud to have gotten to know the next generation and help kickstart their professional journey. I even taught one of my design hero’s sons (great kid) and the kid from The Lego Movie (another great kid!) Small world indeed.
Outside the office and the classroom you’ll catch me outside. Preferably on the water in sunny Lake Havasu with my family, on a ski of some sort.
